Eagles-Cowboys Game Preview

	LINE -- Dallas by 8 1/2.
	RECORD VS. SPREAD -- Eagles 3-2; Cowboys 3-2.
	SERIES RECORD -- Cowboys lead 40-26
	LAST TIME MET -- Cowboys topped Eagles twice last season, second
time coming at Dallas 23-17 in Week 14.
	LAST GAME -- Eagles needed last-second interception to hold on to
21-17 win over Redskins. Cowboys dominated Cardinals 38-3 in Texas
Stadium.
	EAGLES OFFENSE -- RUSH (No. 5), PASS (No. 6), OVERALL (No. 3)
	Held ball for 43:11 against Redskins. Two INTs by QB Randall
Cunningham however, held them out of end zone. He has only thrown
three INTs on season and has rating of 87.8. RB Charlie Garner had
his second consecutive 100-yard game, but once again rib problems
might keep him out.
	COWBOYS OFFENSE -- RUSH (No. 3), PASS (No. 12), OVERALL (No. 5)
	RB Emmitt Smith, nursing injuries, played barely one half, but
ran for two TDs. He leads NFL with seven TDs and is third in
rushing (474 yards). QB Troy Aikman rediscovered WR Michael Irvin,
who caught eight passes for 136 yards and TD last week. It was his
first 100-yard game since Week 1. Aikman was 16-for-20 for 231
yards and no INTs vs. Cardinals. His rating is up to 94.1 (third in
NFC).
	EAGLES DEFENSE -- RUSH (No. 2), PASS (No. 5), OVERALL (No. 2)
	Held Redskins to 226 total yards. S Greg Jackson had his second
INT of season last week, which halted drive in final minute.
William Fuller leads team with six sacks (third in NFC). Their 50.0
completion percentage allowed is second in NFL and 17 sacks tied
for third in league.
	COWBOYS DEFENSE -- RUSH (No. 10), PASS (No. 1), OVERALL (No. 1)
	Surrendering just 235.0 yards per game. Pass defense is allowing
league-best 45.6 completion percentage. Had five INTs vs.
Cardinals. S Darren Woodson and CB Larry Brown each had two last
week. Woodson leads team with three. Defensive ends Charles Haley
and Jim Jeffcoat have combined for 10.5 of team's 18 sacks (second
in NFL).
	SPECIAL TEAMS -- Matchup of NFC's top-scoring kickers. Cowboys
rookie Chris Boniol leads conference with 45 points (10-for-11 on
FGs). Kicker he replaced, Eagles K Eddie Murray, has 41 points and
has made all nine FGs. ... Cowboys KR Kevin Williams had 87-yard
kickoff return for TD last week.
	STREAKS, STATS AND NOTES -- Garner is first rookie RB in Eagles
history to run for 100 yards in first two games. ... Cunningham is
8-2 career vs. Cowboys. .. Philadelphia leads NFL in time of
possession, 37:01. ... Dallas has scored on its opening drive in
each of its five games. ... Aikman has thrown TD in 11 straight
games, one short of club record held by Roger Staubach and Don
Meredith. ... Eagles' plus-6 turnover differential is tied for NFL
lead. ... Smith tied Cowboys' record with TD in seven straight
games, matching Fred Clarke and Bob Hayes.
