The Cowboys’ 2004 preseason schedule has been released and they get a national audience on a Monday Night.
The one game that they know the date and time will be an August 30 Monday Night Football game when they host the Tennessee Titans at Texas Stadium.
The other games have not been given dates and times, but the Cowboys will open their preseason at the Houston Texans then at the Oakland Raiders. After the Monday Night game, Dallas will host the Kansas City Chiefs.
All games have a familiarity tied to them. The Houston Texans have emerged as the cross-state rival for Texas bragging rights. The Titans franchise moved from Houston where they were the Oilers. In 1963, the Dallas Texans moved to Kansas City and changed their name to the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Raiders and Cowboys have been annual opponents in the preseason.
The Cowboys are scheduled to open training camp on July 29 in Oxnard, Calif.
