The Dallas Cowboys will have a new home next summer for training camp.
Team officials said on Friday that the team signed a two-year deal with an option for a third year at the Marriot Residence Inn in Oxnard.
A convention was scheduled at the Alamodome during the same time the Cowboys were to train in San Antonio next summer.
From 1963 to 1989, the Cowboys trained at California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks. For part of the 2001 training camp, the Cowboys left Wichita Falls and spent the second part of the training camp in Oxnard.
The moderate temperatures in Oxnard were a welcomed relief to the 100-plus temperatures of Texas.
